lobster charter

The Caribbean spiny lobster travel into the shallow waters of Key Largo which provides easy access for novice snorkelers to harvest this highly sought after crustacean.  The catches typically decline later in the season, but this is one of our favorite activities so we always stay up to speed on where the lobster are hiding!

During the recreational spiny lobster season (Mini Season = last Wednesday & Thursday of July. Open Season = August 6th-March 31st), we offer charters to snorkel and harvest this species.  Capt. Elmo has years of experience lobstering in south Florida and can put you on shallow reef filled with spiny lobster.  Most of the reef is within 10-60ft allowing easy freediving for novice breathholders.  Complementary breathhold training is offered by Capt. Elmo, an expert self-taught free-diver who has freedove the Spiegle Grove in Key Largo, the Black Bart in Panama City, and even the Yongala in Australia. A popular combination charter includes spearfishing and lobstering since these charters take place in the same habitat…and you’re already swimming, might as well kill two birds with one stone…or grab a lobster and shoot a fish.
